Centre for Training and Professional Development, the training wing of Asian College of Teachers, has designed and developed this online training program to acquaint the trainers with the knowledge of using various fun filled activities which can be implemented in workshops/classes to have a light atmosphere as well as gain new knowledge in the process. The course ensures that the trainers know the usage of these fun activities and the inclusion of humour at the appropriate time.
Participants will be asked to identify their personal learning objectives. The following are the areas to be covered in this training program thereafter.
The program begins with a brief review of the learning cycle and adult learning principles and the value of games in training. Participants will then have an opportunity to share their favourite training game.
In this section, we will focus on three things that can help participants see the value of training games - some great game experiences and some games that flopped, and what we can take away from these lessons.
Despite our best intentions and planning, sometimes a game will not work. This part will highlight how to anticipate, avoid and deal with problems.
It's not hard to be funny; just be CREATIF! We will explore each letter of this acronym during this section.
To break the day up and illustrate some of our key points, participants will take part in a quick, fun energizer.
Participant will learn about three easy games that can be adapted for many situations. Then, they need to explain the games from a trainer’s perspective.
To wrap up, the participants need to create their own game, thereby encouraging creativity.
At the end of the course, students will have an opportunity to ask questions and queries and fill out an action plan.
